Bertrand Lavier — Walt Disney Productions 1947-2013
Walt Disney Productions 1947-2013
Past: September 12 → October 12, 2013
For his fifth solo show, Bertrand Lavier has realized a series of new works based on the theme of Walt Disney Productions, thus offering new direction to a series he initiated in 1947.
Indeed, 1947 is actually the date of the first apparition of an imaginary Museum of Modern Art created by Disney Studio in a Mickey Mouse Comic Strip. Only during the first half of the eighties decade the artist extracted the works of this context and faithfully transposed them on canvas, paper, picture or three dimensions.
For his exhibition at Yvon Lambert Gallery, Bertrand Lavier offers a renewed initiative of this series, for the first time contextualizing it within the history and story of his own practice.
