Martin Meyenburg — No Place Like Home
No Place Like Home
Past: May 12 → June 2, 2012
This first solo exhibition in France by the German artist Martin Meyenburg presents a series of new works specially conceived for the space of the galerie laurent mueller.
Martin Meyenburg creates paintings and sculptures on the verge between abstraction and still life, where a sense of space collides with improbable lightning or an hermetic viewing field.
For No Place Like Home, the artist — following his practice — has devised a series of corresponding paintings and sculptures, leading to an installation which goes beyond the plane of the canvas or even the plinth of a sculpture to encompass the whole exhibition space.
Martin Meyenburg, born 1978 in Berlin, Germany. Holds a Master from the Universität der Künste of Berlin and received the Walter Hellenthal Price for painting in 2007. He has shown in Berlin, Hamburg and Paris.
