Exposition de groupe #3

Past: June 27 → September 14, 2013

The Gallery announces the group exhibition #3 which will display the original prints by Claude Viallat, Jean-Michel Meurice, Daniel Dezeuze and Gérard Titus-Carmel.

These four artists have been highly influential in the early 1960s to our days through their work around abstraction and the medium / surface movement. Their prints on paper and cloth are the result of a work which has been carefully thought-out and carried out for the greatest number, most particularly the print achieved in close partnership between the artists and the editor.

Upstairs we will display the drawings on paper by Guillaume Moschini. Born in Nîmes in 1970, he studied at the Fine Arts School (École des Beaux-Arts) of Nîmes, where he was taught by Claude Viallat and Patrick Saytour. He now lives and works in Paris.

In his creations, paintings serve as media for colour. He successively superimposes coats of ink which are absorbed by the outstretched raw cotton canvas. The broad paintbrush used to apply these layers of colour runs across the canvas, leaving a track, a trace after its use, a repetitive shape, which enables Arthur to focus on colour, depth and lightness. Instead of being final, the meaning of the painting is thought about during the hanging up. It brings about questions, arouses a point of view, even a decision.
