Jean-Philippe Pargade Architecte
Subjectiver le lieu

Past: January 31 → February 25, 2012

The architect and urbanist Jean-Philippe Pargade opened his agency in Paris in 1980, specializing in large public buildings such as hospitals, research and teaching centers, office complexes, and housing developments. His extensive portfolio of major projects contains many outstanding buildings, including the medical complex at Bailleul, the French embassy in Warsaw, the biology center at Lyon’s Croix Rousse hospital, and 37 homes at Paris Seine Rive-Gauche. Jean-Philippe Pargade and Caroline Rigaldiès, partners since 2003, are now expanding the agency’s activities into areas such as private developments, city planning, and universities and their place in cities.

Pargade’s experience and the team he has formed are the foundation stones on which his renowned expertise and his ever-evolving efficacy have been built. The “Subjectifying Space” exhibition at the Galerie d’Architecture uses Pargade’s most recent work to highlight his personal approach to architectural projects, showcasing four major projects that are currently being built: the Paris-Est scientific and technical research complex at Marne-la-Vallée, the SIAAP industrial campus at Achères, a private hospital at Villeneuve d’Ascq, and the Bégin military teaching hospital at Saint-Mandé.
