Rendez-vous immanquable, la manifestation propose pas moins de 80 expositions.

For centuries, the Congo has compelled and defied the Western imagination. In his exhibition Infra, Richard Mosse brings to this subject the use of a discontinued military surveillance technology, a type of film especially sensitive to infrared light called Kodak Aerochrome. Originally developed for camouflage detection, this aerial reconnaissance film registers an invisible spectrum of infrared light, rendering the green landscape in vivid hues of lavender, crimson, and hot pink. On his journeys in eastern Congo, Mosse photographed rebel groups of constantly switching allegiances, fighting nomadically in a jungle war zone plagued by frequent ambushes, massacres, and systematic sexual violence. Infra offers a fevered inflation of the traditional reportage document, underlining the tension between art, fiction, and photojournalism.

Now based in New York, 32 year old Richard Mosse has already had his work shown at Bass Museum of Miami, Tate Modern in London, Akademie der Künste in Berlin and Kunsthalle in Münich. Infra was presented as part of Dublin Contemporary 2011, as well as in Liverpool, Belfast and Toronto.
