CAC Brétigny

With its passage-shaped exhibition space, CAC Brétigny develops a programme where artists and public turn into real users of the centre. The permeability of the art centre with its environment has always been a major focus. CAC Brétigny’s new project builds on this legacy.

It organizes numbers of actions that benefit both artists and audiences with poor access to culture. The art centre and its audience benefit from a collection that has been built up over the past 30 years, including the city of Brétigny’s art collection as well as public commissions created especially for the venue and developed by the two former directors Xavier Franceschi and Pierre Bal-Blanc.

Carried out by Céline Poulin, appointed director in June 2016, CAC Brétigny’s artistic programme stands out for its focus on the amateur activities which include the partners in collaboration projects, as well as on the issue of production in specific contexts. CAC Brétigny supports artists and researchers towards the creation of innovative artistic forms, advocating for the mix of disciplines, art periods and aesthetics.
