Tornabuoni Art

Highly specialized in Italian Art from the second half of the XXth century (Fontana, Castellani, Manzoni, Dorazio, Bonalumi, Dadamaino, Boetti, etc.), the gallery also proposes works of international avant-garde artists of the XXth century (Picasso, Miró, Kandinsky, Hartung, Poliakoff, Dubuffet, Lam, Matta, Christo, Wesselmann, Warhol, and Basquiat, etc) as well as the main artists of the Italian Novecento (De Chirico, Morandi, Balla, Severini and Sironi).

Tornabuoni Art in Paris opened on October 1st 2009 with a very successful exhibition dedicated to Lucio Fontana. Since then numerous monographic exhibitions have been organised : Alighiero Boetti (2010), Mario Ceroli (2010), Arnaldo Pomodoro (2011), Enrico Castellani (2011), Mimmo Rotella (2012), Giuseppe Capogrossi (2013). All if the solo shows are conceived in direct consultation with the artist or the foundation that represents him and is also documented by a catalogue.

Besides retrospectives dedicated to great post-war Italian artists, the gallery also offers a unique approach to its collection through the organisation of group shows by external curators who are given free rein. The exhibitions “Monochrome Under Pressure”, “On Fire” and “Bianco Italia” were created following this idea.

All exhibition are conceived in collaboration with Tornabuoni Arte in Florence (Italy) which was the first gallery created by Roberto Casamonti in 1981 in the street that its name to the gallery. Tornabuoni Arte has then opened spaces in Milan in 1995, in Portofino en 2001, Forte dei Marmi in 2004 and eventually Paris in 2009.

Tornabuoni Art participates in international art fairs such as FIAC and Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris, TEFAF in Maastricht, Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Basel Hong Kong, Artefiera in Bologna and Frieze Masters in London.
The gallery also acts as a consultant to international museums and as an advisor to private or business collections.
