Œuvres de Lotfi Benyelles, Claire Chevrier, Jean Larive, Elisa Larvego, Laurent Malone, André Mérian, Gilles Raynaldy et Aimée Thirion, réalisées dans le cadre de la commande photographique éponyme du Centre national des arts plastiques et du PEROU.

The Serialgalerie materializes for 3 days in Bertrand Baraudou’s space, around the work of Claire Chevrier. Through these freeze frames, Claire Chevrier seems to establish an inventory of a third landscape that would cross, in full frame, memory and subjectivity.

Photography was conceived and developed during the industrial movement of the 19th century. A so called mechanical art, photography has helped define our perception of work. Photographers have denounced inhumane work practice just as they have glorified individuals’ bodies in the name of progress.

This exhibition looks at the photographic devices and the processes that are used to produce or modify ’photographic objects’ all of which go to make up the photographer’s studio. These objects demonstrate the technological possibilities and constraints characteristic of each period, and reflect the constant changes that have taken place in the history of photography.
