Hanns Schimansky has shown widely in Europe, especially in Germany, in particular he has had important solo shows held at the Gemeentemuseum in La Haye, at the Staatliche Kunsthalle in Karlsruhe as well as at the Muséee d’Art et d’Histoire in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The artist’s work figures in the public collections of the National Contemporary Art Museum in Oslo, Berlinische Galerie, the National Contemporary Art Museum in Berlin, Staatliche Graphische Sammlung, Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Neuchâtel as well as in other major public collections.
