Julien Crépieux
Whether making films, installations, or collages, Julien Crépieux’s work proposes original devices through the appropriation of images, films, texts, and music, of which he twists the modes of appearance, giving rise to works marked with a formal as well as poetical dimension.
Graduated from School of Fine Arts of Montpellier (FR), Julien Crépieux, born in 1979, lives and works in Paris. His work was shown in several exhibitions in France, Le Plateau — Centre d’art contemporian of the FRAC Ile-de-France (Elodie Royer and Yoann cur. Gourmel), Centre d’art contemporain of Quimper (cur. Marc Bembekoff ), L’espace de l’art concret in Mouans-Sartoux (cur. Paul Ardenne and Fabienne Fulchieri) and the CRAC Sète (cur. Judicaël Lavrador), Palais de Tokyo, CAPC in Bordeaux …
And he also participated to many exhibitions abroad (Hermes und der Pfau, Stuttgart, French Institute, South London Gallery, London; GAMEC, Museum of Contemporary Art in Bergamo, Italy, Art Center of Nizhny, Russia).
In 2014, the gallery held the second solo show of Julien Crépieux from March 22nd to May 3rd, 2014. Entitled « Corpusculum Flottans », the exhibition gathers recent works and inaugurates the new space of the galley at 2 rue Beaubourg, Paris.
