Leopoldo Mazzoleni graduated in architecture in 1981 in Palermo, with a thesis entitled Architettura della morte V/S morte dell’architettura (death Architecture V/S architecture death) that relies on the thought of John Baudrillard in the text Symbolic Exchange and Death, and regards the repression of death in the contemporary city. This paper analyzes the close relationship between the architecture of living (the city) and the architecture of the dead (burial).
