Paris Aéroport — MAC VAL hors-les-murs

Un musée est toujours bien plus qu’une collection d’œuvres et c’est particulièrement le cas du MAC VAL, le musée d’art contemporain du Département du Val-de-Marne. C’est cette expérience unique que l’aéroport Paris-Orly a voulu vous faire vivre en invitant le MAC VAL à travers une sélection d’œuvres dans un parcours en reflet.

Robin McGinley pays homage to “33 1/3” (1969), a little-known work by John Cage. A dozen or so record decks occupy the space and hundreds of vinyl disks are made available to the public, giving them the chance to create their own musical ambiance by putting on whichever pieces they choose.

Throughout winter 2012, la maison rouge will stage the first major international exhibition of neon art from the 1950s to the present day. Some one hundred works will be presented in all, many of historical significance, many being shown for the first time. They will include pieces by pioneers from the early 1950s and some of the many contemporary artists.
