Thirty years after The Magicians of the Earth, fifteen years after Africa Remix, five years after Multiple Modernities from 1905 to 1970 and following on from the exhibitions devoted to Wifredo Lam, Latiff Mohidin and, most recently, Ernest Mancoba, the Centre Pompidou continues to explore the history of non-Western arts.

Anywhere But Here
Past: September 14 → November 5, 2016
“Anywhere But Here” brings together artworks that seek out some circulations of objects, figures or gestures in relation to Cambodia. With a focus on deterritorialization, these collected stories of movements draw vanishing points within prevailing processes of history-making and patrimonial heritage.

Pratchaya Phinthong
Past: September 8 → November 3, 2012
Pratchaya Phinthong’s world is a play of equivalences and flux, an organised ensemble of tensions between two positions; his art becomes a prolongation of this complex system, as the gallery turns itself into an active partner in a business whose stakes go beyond the habitual boundaries of art.

Le Mont Fuji n’existe pas
Past: June 7 → July 29, 2012
Legend has it that wherever you are in Japan, you can see Mount Fuji. While in residency at the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto, we tried to confirm this hypothesis on several occasions. The works exhibited at the Plateau fluctuate between: a collective dynamics based on gestures freed from any productive necessity, an incursion into everyday life.

Le sentiment des choses
Past: December 15, 2011 → February 26, 2012
As the first part of a series of exhibitions devised by Elodie Royer and Yoann Gourmel, guest curators for the 2011-2012 season, the collective exhibition The Feeling of Things takes as its point of departure the work and spirit of Bruno Munari, “a Peter Pan with the calibre of a Leonardo”, to borrow Pierre Restany’s words.

Pratchaya Phinthong — Give more than you take
Past: December 5, 2010 → February 19, 2011
