Voyages atmosphériques (Concerning the Blueness of the Sky)
Past: April 22 → May 29, 2016
Since 2003, the research carried out by Christina Hemauer and Roman Keller (born in 1973 and 1969 respectively; both live and work in Zurich) displays a major ecological and political commitment that is expressed in films, performances, installations, and publications. In conjunction with their forthcoming show at CCS, the artists launched a solar balloon equipped with a sophisticated communication device from a glacier in the Swiss Alps, where the reflected light from the snow makes for a quicker ascent. The data collected in this way has been subjected to multiple parameters. Working with the climatologist Atsumu Ohmura, the two have remarked that the blue of the sky is changing because the planet is heating up. Sky blue plays an essential role in their show.
