Claude Closky — Diplopie

Exhibition

Drawing

Claude Closky
Diplopie

Past: September 7 → October 12, 2013

Gathering original works made in 2012 and 2013, Diplopie is about confrontations, appearances and surprises. In an ever humorous manner, the artist blurs the line between two representational registers, one arbitrary and the other determined.

Another important aspect of the exhibited works lies in the deliberate economy of means. Nothing is done to reassure, nothing is precious or rare.

The presented works tackle different subjects : the border, the slope, the loop, the alphabet, the crossing, the symmetry, the dots, the proximity, the oval, the slices, the horns, the choice, the pyramid, the piece of pie, the dashes, the mountain, the flight point, the building block, the burial, the pendulum, the corner, the branches, the bricks, the twist, the ribbon, the trace…

Claude Closky takes part until October 7th in the exhibition Vues d’en haut curated by Angela Lampe at the Centre Pompidou Metz. He shows specific projects for the public space, Sept et pas sept in Brussels, Jackpot in Montpellier.
