In 20 days: May 15 → July 11, 2025

In the spring of 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will be inviting David Hockney into all its exhibition spaces, with over 400 works dating from 1955 to 2025.

To mark the occasion, Galerie Lelong, which has represented the artist for many years, is staging an exhibition of his prints — portraits and still lifes — in its space dedicaded to prints downstairs and in the salon upstairs, at 13 rue de Téhéran.

This exhibition of multiple works highlights the variety of printing techniques used by David Hockney: etchings, lithographs, digital prints, photographs, photo-collage, photocopies, etc. The artist has constantly explored the new creative possibilities of production tools to show what he sees: his favourite models, Celia and Gregory, but also his parents, or the famous self-portrait of the “artist as a student”, approaching, drawing board under his arm, the bust of Picasso, the revered master. And among these portraits are a few flowers, some dancing, sunflowers, “roses for [his] mother”, and anything else worth immortalising from his window.
