Green is the new red is only visible from the street: the gallery space itself is closed according to the artist’s wishes for the entire duration of the exhibition. The show is symbolic in terms of its opening and closing dates, and establishes a suspended timeframe that is superimposed on historical time.
Holding one’s breath, staring open-mouthed, or preparing to fight might all be reasons for this process of “closing”, which symmetrically “opens” onto the social entity of public space.
