FoRTE#6 — Exposition des lauréats
Exhibition
FoRTE#6
Exposition des lauréats
Ends in 29 days: November 30, 2024 → January 18, 2025
The Fonds régional pour les talents émergents (FoRTE) is a support program created by the Île-de-France Region in 2017 to make the region more attractive to young French and international artists.
The FoRTE#6 promotion is characterised by its interdisciplinarity and the way in which the artists tackle the contemporary issues running through our society. The result of fertile collaborations, exchanges and encounters, the works illustrate how art becomes immersed in society and, in turn, helps to shape it. This year, the exhibition will be displayed on the three levels of Les Réserves, with an original dialogue between the works of the award winning artists and those from the Frac collection. This dialogue between generations of artists highlights the transmission of knowledge and sensibilities.
The FoRTE#6 promotion is characterized by its interdisciplinarity and the way the artists address contemporary issues affecting our society. Born from collaborations, exchanges, and fruitful encounters, the works illustrate how art absorbs societal influences and, in turn, contributes to shaping it. Recurring themes such as the perception of reality and its alteration can be found in the work of Flora Bouteille and Rosario Aninat. Meanwhile, Lise Thiollier, by exploring the production of lithium crystals, and Marylou, by reconstructing the songs of endangered birds, examine the ways in which our lifestyles impact the environment. Through a world inspired by fairgrounds, Clément Courgeon plays with the transmission of cultural heritage and traditions, a theme also explored by Silina Syan. These works encourage reflection on how we perceive and inhabit the world. Through textile and tactile research, Diane Chéry creates a pictorial language that blends art and craftsmanship in a synesthetic approach. Jérémie Danon and Gabriel Fontana reimagine the utopias of both yesterday and tomorrow by envisioning new ways of living together, while Gala Hernández López transposes this theme into a virtual world, possibly veering into a form of dystopia. These “living spaces” created by the artists invite visitors to interact with the works, immersing themselves and thus activating reflection on how we inhabit and transform the environments around us.
These pieces plunge us into a “meta-world,” a space beyond our immediate perceptions, where technology, ecology, and the exploration of new media intertwine. The works from the Frac collection resonate with these universes in a transgenerational dialogue.
The FoRTE#6 promotion, in dialogue with the Frac Île-de-France collection, celebrates young artistic creation as a vehicle for a rich and inspiring exchange with our world, in all its complexity.
