Georges Noël — Berthet – Aittouarès Gallery — Exhibition — Slash Paris

In 1990, Michèle Aittouarès meets Georges Noël, as they established their friendship, they made the decision to organise a Solo show at Berthet-Aittouarès Gallery.
Today they are back on the gallery’s walls.
Canvases coated with sand like materials and engraved with archaïc symbols, paint on crafted papers, teared and shaped, are close to the works of Brassaï and Dubuffet. They can also remind us of some writings by Henri Michaux and symbols by Jean Degottex, both artists represented at the gallery.
After his important exhibition at the ___Musée d’Art Moderne___, we are currently assisting in an important acknowledgement of Georges Noël’s work.
In 2021, Philippe Dagen, writes in Le Monde, about his regrets that George Noël’s work is not shown and valued anymore.
We hope that with this exhibition, Berthet-Aittouarès Gallery is taking part in this new enlightenment.
