Temporaldaten — Solo show
Past: June 17 → July 15, 2017
Jérôme Poggi is pleased to devote a first solo show to Marion Verboom (born in 1983 in Nantes; works and lives in Paris). The gallery is glad to represent her work in France and collaborate together with Pill Gallery (Istanbul, TR) on the international art scene.
On this occasion, Verboom has created a group of new sculptures as part of her Achronies, a series animated by the concept « Temporaldaten » developed by German philosopher Edmund Husserl. In 2015, this series was on view for the first time during an important solo show organized by the Museum of Sainte-Croix in Sables d’Olonne (FR).

Resulting from a research carried out at the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid (ES) and the Archaeological Museum of Istanbul (TR), these new sculptures in plaster or resin generate a singular sense of transitoriness through hybrid elevations. They open a stratigraphic dialogue between different civilizations along the Mediterranean sea. Together with this composite installation, another set of sculptural and graphic works specially produced for the show will be exhibited.
In the fall, a 500 m2 new space dedicated to transmission will be inaugurated at Palais de Tokyo and, for the occasion, the artist has been invited to create an immersive permanent installation. Marion Verboom was also entrusted to create a new artwork for a safe house in Maine and Loire, as part of the New Patrons’ initiative.
