Villa Vassilieff is pleased to present « •— • », a solo exhibition of the french artist Mélanie Matranga (b. 1985). The Villa Vassilieff’ exhibition space will be entirely filled with Matranga’s works specially designed for the occasion.

Through this exhibition named by a silent and unpronounceable title, Mélanie Matranga challenges the language and its limits. Perceived as a prison whose walls widen to the measure of vocabulary that we use, the language remains always limited, as the time, space or bodies. The boundaries of the language nourish the question of expression, communication, self-representation and also the definition of otherness. With this exhibition, Mélanie Matranga tries to play with these boundaries, confuses them or find, naively or desperately, an exit through their constraints.
