Exhibition
Norman Dilworth
1 2 1 2 1
Past: March 12 → April 24, 2021
Norman Dilworth is interested in the phenomenon of numbers. His choices have a purely abstract basis, with no reference to nature, although his completed works often support associations in this sense. He humorously refers to it as “the nature of things”.
Norman Dilworth concentrates on simple mathematical rows, increasing or decreasing, inclined, angles of a precise degree etc. Yet the result is confusingly complex and often difficult to explain. His favourite material is wood, stained black. Also, in his recent work, he uses for example traditional steel combined with stainless steel, and even string. The original colour of the material plays an essential role in most of these new wall sculptures.
The personal exhibition of recent work 1 2 1 2 1 celebrates the 90th birthday of the English sculptor who has been exhibiting since 2004 at the Oniris gallery in Rennes.
