Nuit de la Poésie

Past: June 3 → 4, 2023

“Poetry is always an act of peace” (Pablo Neruda) From Saturday, June 3, 9 pm to Sunday, June 4, 7 am

Musée d’art et d’histoire de Genève, Salle Rome Entrance through Boulevard Jaques-Dalcroze n°9

At the invitation of the Museum of Art and History Geneva, Barbara Polla organizes, with her two accomplices from previous Nights, Rosanna Gangemi and Jean-Philippe Rossignol, and thanks to more than 55 readers, a ninth Night of Poetry in the middle of the statues of the Salle Rome. Both intimate and public, the Night recalls peace, with this polysemous proposal by Melissa Cascarino: YOUR TONGUE / YOUR LANGUAGE IN MY MOUTH (in French langue means both tongue and language) — and we read in French, German, Italian, Kurdish, Russian, Greek, Turkish, Ukrainian, Persian… We read in full consciousness, engaged in the textes we have chosen and listening to others. Reading poetry together for a whole night is an act of peace, and an act of love, too.

We do need poetry.

Poetry is useless. It is therefore essential.

Join us throughout the Night, the doors are open.

That Night, all together, we will make the statues dance, thanks to Marc-Olivier Wahler,

director of the MAH, and to the whole MAH team.
