Past: May 12 → July 10, 2012

Dae Jin Choi’s work is on the exact intersection of several realities : the cold war in Korea — his native country — the world fights of the economic, political, religious and cultural powers, and that finally the plural artistic breakaway of all the possibles.

With the poetic grace that elude the constraint of mediums, Dae jin Choi’s ready-made, paintings, sculptures, videos invit to crazy adventure games.

Ramen is a manga name for the ready-made of Korean traditional noodles pot wildly cut by an axe. Five Enemis are five round jelly colored paintings, on each the golden logo of one of the most powerful countries in the world such as it appears on passports, arranged on a wall calligraphied with the sinogrammes of the title. This is also a poem from Korean opponent Ji-Ha Kim. Toteninsel — Hymen An Die Natch is an impressive epic painting represents Hashima, a surrended japanese coal mine island.

You’ve to be light to dream the world. Dae Jin Choi’s nightwork are like symbols of power, turn into XXIst century pop « vanités».
