Remember Me
Chefs-d’œuvre de la photographie de la Collection Pinault

Starts tomorrow: October 7, 2026 → January 18, 2027

On the occasion of the bicentenary of the invention of photography, the Pinault Collection presents, from 7 October 2026 at the Bourse de Commerce, a major group exhibition bringing together nearly 700 works by more than 70 artists. Curated by Matthieu Humery, Photography Advisor to the Pinault Collection, with the collaboration of project manager Lola Regard, Remember Me takes its title from an original work by Barbara Kruger, specially installed in the museum’s Rotunda.

Conceived as a tribute to the photographic medium, the exhibition explores nearly two centuries of photographic history through the masterpieces and iconic images of the Pinault Collection, from its earliest beginnings to its most contemporary expressions.

Inspired by the publication 100 Masterpieces of Photography. Pinault Collection, released in 2025, the exhibition unfolds like a fugue: a free, non-chronological journey in which unexpected correspondences emerge across periods, styles, and sensibilities. This approach invites visitors to experience the history of photography in an open, intuitive, and deeply engaging way.

From Gustave Le Gray to Cindy Sherman, from Dorothea Lange to Wolfgang Tillmans, with Man Ray and Louise Lawler among many others, the Pinault Collection (comprising more than 8,000 prints) embraces the full breadth of photographic history. It also reflects the diversity of the medium’s aesthetics, practices, and technical innovations. Presenting such a comprehensive panorama for the first time on the occasion of photography’s bicentenary seemed only natural.

Through an exceptional selection of approximately one thousand works, Remember Me offers an unprecedented exploration of this visual heritage. Borrowed from Barbara Kruger’s work, the exhibition title resonates as an invitation to memory, transmission, and the enduring power of images, while prompting reflection on their ability to transcend time.
