Exhibition

Painting

(un mural, des tableaux)

Past: January 22 → April 12, 2015

As explicitly indicated by its title, the exhibition [un mural, des tableaux] is exclusively dedicated to painting. Devised from recently acquired works from the frac île-de-france collection — notably, Stéphane Dafflon’s _PM062_ — the exhibition is strictly organised around a set of predetermined rules, so as to show each of the works in complete autonomy and to offer the visitor a pictorial journey of many contrasts. Thus, [un mural, des tableaux] can indiscriminately present paintings from across the very diverse fields of pictorial creation, from the most radical abstraction to the most unfettered figuration.

It also proposes a novel exhibition method and a vision of a set of works which, beyond the immutable nature of a medium, are each characterised by a form of radicalness: that same radicalness that is at work in their own method of presentation.
