Abbaye de Maubuisson

Owned by the Department of Val-d’Oise, the estate of Maubuisson houses the buildings and remains of the cistercian abbey Notre-Dame-La-Royale, founded by Queen Blanche of Castile in 1236.

Visitors of the eight-hectare park planted with trees will get the chance to discover some archaeological remains. A small stream, a canal and some ornamental ponds along the way are examples of hydraulic developments dating from the Middle Ages until the 18th century. Today, the Abbey of Maubuisson hosts exhibitions of contemporary art as well as a cultural and educational program on the theme of “creation and heritage”.
