Kristin McKirdy

While celebrated in 2009 as an “outstanding talent” by the prize for L’Intelligence de la main awarded by the Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, and in 2012 by Sèvres-Cité de la Céramique, which held a retrospective of her work after a four-year residency, the American artist Kristin McKirdy is still an experimenter.

Emmanuel Boos — Je t’aime moi non plus

Emmanuel Boos loves ceramic glaze, which is the object of his artistic practice. Glaze is the glassy coating covering the body of a ceramic piece. In short, glaze can be considered a ceramic paint or colour but Emmanuel Boos sees much more in it: for Boos, glaze is both a new material and a poetic space.

The designer Roger Tallon worked for the Corail train, the TGV high-speed train, the Méteor train and the Montmartre funicular. In all these works, he managed to develop his “total design” concept, in an ongoing struggle against the “design-shortcomings” (designo-déficience) of contemporary industry and society.
