Apolline Grivelet
My work is made of experimental pieces, taken up to evolve through time in a way or another. For each of them, a certain number of factors are put in place, then chemical or biological processes, planned or not, take over. These are discreet events, almost invisible to the eye, similar to many others.
The world we live in hums with their numerous interactions, wouldn’t function without their laws and yet we only have a superficial appreciation of it. What we don’t perceive often governs our lives: our cells’ chemistry, the oxidation of time, the intimate structure of the objects we use. One of my ingredients, the living matter, is even more mysterious. By inciting life to grow above death, I try to re-locate the place of men in their environment. I love to do and undo, to crystallize and dissolve, to search for the rules of this world.
