Collectif 1.0.3
We all received our Postgraduate degrees in 2002 from the HEAD in Geneva. Our name, “Collective 1.0.3” comes from the naming of software program updates. It is also a description of how we work, combining our individual singular talents collaboratively. We believe our collective artistic approach reveals tension and richness where poetry is never far away.
We have worked together like this for 15 years; representing human organisational forms from mythological times through to contemporary modern times.
“Sunset” draws shadows of parking spaces, “Misma” examines portraiture from a numerical point of view, “Argos” and his endless soundings, “Athenas owl” and his specific eye, “The Medusa” revealed by flashs.
Our artistic approach considers a crossing between mythological history and technology. Nowadays, it is commonplace to see a Greek, Roman or Viking God’s name incorporated into software or a specific tool. This “link” is fundamental to our work and makes us “non-typical artists”. As is our collaboration, not only between ourselves, but also with other artists sometimes.
