Daniel Bourgais
Born in Ethiopia and raised in Normandy, Daniel Bourgais is a trained architect and visual artist. His work examines architecture, landscape, and environments, uncovering the sensitive memory of places through traces, memories, and the marks of time in urban and rural areas.
At the intersection of photography, architecture, and digital experimentation, he repurposes photogrammetry to create dense, fragmented images—poetic palimpsests that recompose the memory of landscapes. Inspired by Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism, he incorporates an urban dimension into his abstract recreations in Montrouge, while retaining the imprints of his Ethiopian childhood.
His works have been exhibited at the Bastille Design Center, Galerie Porte B, Musée Roybet Fould, and Salon Approche, and were selected for the Don Papa Art Program 2022 and the Biennale de l’Image Tangible 2.0. He also explores landscape through sculpture and installation.
