Between play and display there’s a friction, a “game” that 22m48 invite to explore through a specific scenography which will, like a set of board games, turn the works of 10 artists, and the viewers into “players”.

Standing before a work such as Émilie Brout and Maxime Marion’s Dérives, the viewer might well feel overwhelmed. In the work, 2,000 images of water, excerpts from throughout the history of cinema, are edited by a machine into a single continuous sequence: an endless film.

Uploloload proposes an investigation into the basic recoding of all things digital as a form of deciphering various worlds. It’s about the digital defeating the real, when the real in turn tries to mimic the digital. It’s a manmade strategy of defeat in front of the machine’s virtuous hyper dexterity.
