Françoise Coutant
Graduated from ENSBA in Paris as a sculptor Françoise Coutant excels in representing abstract ideas through objects. When she represents time, one of her favourite theme, she starts from a form, the one of a sablier, and dress it with empty shells. She names the work « Dead Time ».
She creates sculptures that are as evanescent as a dream. She uses fragile and light material like feathers, dandelions, eggs shells, etc. and works on space and light. She likes to hang the objects and play with their shadows. And her stairs are climbing up nowhere.
