Hagar Cygler
Hagar Cygler works in a broad context of archives and collections, by sorting and reorganizing materials and information. Her work deals with personal and historical memory, and through connections between photographs and personal and anonymous objects explores the act of collecting and their role within the archive as cultural memory.
She is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (BFA, 2006) and the California Institute of the Arts (MFA, 2017). Cygler had solo shows at Pracownia Portretu, Lodz, Poland (2019), Kav 16 gallery, Tel Aviv, Israel (2018), Nolobaz gallery, Tel-Aviv, Israel (2018), AJU gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2017). She has published 2 artist books: ‘Hana’ (2014) and ‘Faded but not Forgotten’ (2017).
