On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of Hervé Guibert’s death, Les Douches la Galerie is presenting a new solo exhibition from November 17, 2021 to February 5, 2022. Through a selection of self-portraits, this exhibition seeks to reflect on his inner world and to explore autofiction in photography.

Les Douches la Galerie is pleased to present L’éloge de la main [In Praise of the Hand], a collective exhibition crossing various movements that investigates the motif of the hand in photography. This exhibition brings together fifty prints from the works of twenty-seven artists spanning the period from 1925 to 2018.

A sa mort, le 27 décembre 1991, Hervé Guibert était salué comme le jeune écrivain libre et flamboyant que son livre « A l’ami qui ne m’a pas sauvé la vie » venait de rendre célèbre. On indiquait aussi qu’Hervé Guibert laissait une œuvre de photographe reconnue et publiée. Ecrivain, photographe, il était les deux.
