Approche — Un salon dédié à l’expérimentation du medium photographique — 4e édition

The a ppr oc he salon was originally scheduled to take place in November 2020. The sanitary crisis decided otherwise. But thanks to the desire and motivation of the artists and gallery directors, the team is happy to announce that the fourth edition of a ppr oc he, dedicated to unique pieces, will take place from 26 to 30 May.

Two years after her solo exhibition, the galerie Les filles du calvaire announce the exhibition “Love Me Tender” by Katrien de Blauwer, simultaneous with the release of two new books by the artist. The artistic practice of Katrien de Blauwer explores the realm of collage, this term should be interpreted as a notion of total commitment.

This project comes from a desire to materialize the collaboration between Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire and the photography book-magazine “OFF the wall” over a summer exhibition. It will also be the opportunity to hold a group show on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the gallery and the last issues of the magazine.

Katrien de Blauwer has become a master in the art of “cutting”, a term that defines her practice better than “collage”, since the latter fails to express her mastery of composition and the formal impact of her creations. In fact, her artworks are not collages in the usual sense.
