Sam Levack & Jennifer Lewandowski — À propos — Slash Paris

The artist duo have exhibited widely in the UK and Europe and were shortlisted and exhibiting artists in the Dazed/Converse artist awards in 2011 at the Whitechapel Gallery. Grey Area has worked with the artists on several series of editioned works. Transformation #1 is a photographic series which presents an assemblage of iconic elements from Blade Runner, including stark neon, fractured glass, stuffed replicant animals, exquisite corpses and a collision of eastern ephemera. Transformation #2 features a series of works relating to the imagery and mood of the film The Big Blue, conjuring up a nostalgia for a non-existent, fictional past. In Babylon/End of Love is a fascinating project including screenprinted reclaimed glass works that come out of a performative event where people were ‘forced’ to dance all night.
