The frac île-de-france is holding an exhibition with works from its collection at the Château de Rentilly, where the selection of works is left purely to chance : a random draw, open to everyone via a plugin on the frac website, has taken place from May 25 to June 10, to choose a letter from the alphabet determining the artists to be exhibited.

Seulgi Lee — Damasese

It is now more than three years ago since Seulgi Lee undertook the production of “nubi”, or perhaps we should say “neo-nubi”, so new do they appear. Flamboyant, black on white or multi-coloured, these traditional Korean blankets are currently diverted from their original motifs to become a (pictorial) sequence of transcriptions of proverbs on the limit of figuration.

Ça & là (This & There) — Exposition à la Fondation d’entreprise Ricard et au-delà

I suggested the artists to choose a media on their own, so that space fully becomes an element of their work. The title of the exhibition focuses on the pair, object (or action) and place, as a pun on two common expressions, “This and that” and “Here and there”, the intention being at the same time to question and prompt connections with the environment.

Les Innommables grotesques

Since the discovery in the XVth century of the unpredictable frescoes of the Golden House of Néron under the thermal baths of Trajan, the grotesque has manifested through the ages. The artists of the exhibition cultivate this duel game of humor and carnage. They accumulate, stack, and assemble, drawing from the collective imagination.
