For his first solo exhibition at a Parisian institution, the artist entirely rethinks the various areas at le plateau with an architectural and pictorial dimension, creating a whole new series of artworks encompassing paintings, sculptures and wall stickers. This presentation and these works change our perception of reality through the artist’s sphere of abstraction.

The way Dafflon’s practice is rooted in shifts, while, incidentally, embracing all the operations already mentioned, none of which, alone, would exhaust its complexity: shifts of format, colour and placement. This artist summons his viewer as much to a rediscovery of the venue as to a perceiving of autonomous forms.

A sa vocation d’imprimeur et d’éditeur, il a ajouté celle de galeriste et présente régulièrement de nouvelles œuvres imprimées.

Néon — Who’s afraid of red yellow and blue?

Throughout winter 2012, la maison rouge will stage the first major international exhibition of neon art from the 1950s to the present day. Some one hundred works will be presented in all, many of historical significance, many being shown for the first time. They will include pieces by pioneers from the early 1950s and some of the many contemporary artists.

Whatever the message and the medium, this group exhibition will freely associate works whose common feature is granting colour a liberating — not to say ecstatic — power, and among a host of qualities, that of bringing people together.
