The Home I’ve Never Had
In 12 days: October 19 → December 19, 2026
Mariane Ibrahim presents a major solo exhibition by Amoako Boafo, marking a new chapter in the dialogue that has developed between the artist and the gallery over the past several years. On view in Paris from October 19 to December 19, the exhibition coincides with both Paris Art Week and Art Basel Paris, as well as the fifth anniversary of the gallery’s Paris space.
For this occasion, Boafo transforms the entire gallery into an immersive environment in which the idea of home becomes the starting point of his reflection. Extending beyond painting, the exhibition approaches space as a sensory experience, a place where memory, identity, and human relationships intersect. The works engage with their surroundings to explore what shapes a sense of belonging and how the spaces we inhabit contribute to the construction of self.
Through this installation, the artist blurs the boundaries between exhibition and lived experience. The act of painting becomes intertwined with the act of welcoming, while the gallery is transformed into a space of sharing as much as contemplation. Questions of hospitality, community, and transmission, already central to his practice, find a particularly intimate expression here.
The exhibition thus continues a body of work that places personal and collective narratives at its core, while offering a broader reflection on the connections between individuals, the places they inhabit, and the stories they create within them.
