Art Élysées — Section Design : Le Salon — Avenue des Champs Elysées – Pavillon Ephémère — Event — Slash Paris

With a shift towards contemporary design, since its creation in 2009, the design section of Art Elysées is known for its presentation of XXth century design. This year the fair collaborate with Via, a French label, which presents its selection of galleries and design houses which defend young designers of the French scene. The fair is also proud to present “SALON”: a one-of-a kind exhibition curated by the Berlin-based Michael Fuchs Galerie.

Inspired by the own personal collecting approach of the gallery’s founder, « SALON » shows how to collect in a very unique way, by presenting all kinds of art and acting as a merger of art and lifestyle. By setting up an imaginary home interior, the show aims to recreate the intimate environment of an eclectic and passionate art collector. While mixing art works and vintage design furniture, the exhibition introduces a dialogue between different periods of the art history (contemporary art, modern, old masters, design…) which broadens the traditional approach of collecting today.
