Featured Works: White Pulse
Past: March 16 → April 2, 2016
NextLevel presents through its “Featured Works” sessions the video “White Pulse“ by French artist Christine Maigne. This artwork recently shown in «minus20degree» Art & Architecture Biennial in Austria, has been projected on an outside snow-screen. A new installation of the video “White Pulse” will take place at the gallery.
———
“White Pulse” is a video installation of a grany textured white moving surface where the video picture sticks to the screen to give it a pulse. This unknown white mass, disconnected to any context, is a virgin surface where a natural organic movement can be seen but also some synthetic moving membrane and even some geological phenomenon. This leads to trouble and gives a confusing and questionning notion of natural. White Pulse» is about generic organicity like Christine Maigne’s other series of works Implants, Epis, Tuft, or Black Spots, where black sticks, holes, or blisters seem to grow and spread.
