View In Room is the first solo show in Paris by American artist Evan Roth.

Roth’s work explores the relationship between misuse and empowerment. Creating images, sculptures and websites, his work is informed by manipulating seemingly rigid structures and the effect that hacker philosophies can have when applied to non-digital systems.

The title View In Room comes from a common feature of art-for-sale websites that allows the user to view a piece of art on a virtual wall.

This collection attempts to more thoughtfully engage in bringing Internet-influenced art offline, while respecting the gallery and the Internet as two unique mediums.
