The Regional Fund for Emerging Talents

(FoRTE) is a scheme created by the Île-de- France Region in 2017 and endowed with an

annual budget of €1 million, with the purpose of supporting young artists and creators starting out in their professional careers.

FoRTE launches an annual call for projects aimed at young artists aged between 18 and 30 who have graduated or completed a training course resulting in a qualification in the following disciplines: visual arts, film and audiovisual, music, and performing arts.

The scheme is designed to provide the artists with an original form of support combining: • financial assistance enabling talented young artists to create their first work in the Île-de-France, to develop their professional career and to become known • support from a professional, artistic or cultural structure, providing artistic and technical advice, equipment or a venue, and contact with professional networks.

FoRTE thus proposes an application process associating young talents and support structures, with the application being presented either by the young artist or the group of young artists in the form of a request for funding, or by the support structure in the form of a grant request.

The aid provided by the Region to young artists in the form of a grant can be up to €2,500 per month, for a maximum duration of 10 months.

The young artist must be supported by a professional structure. The aid provided by the Region to the support structure in the form of a grant can go up to €50,000, also for projects lasting a maximum of 10 months.

In the latter case, the structure is responsible for the artist’s remuneration.

For this fourth edition of FoRTE, four expert judging panels, one per discipline, met on 14 september 2021, each chaired by an elected official from the Region.

They selected 38 winning projects out of the 205 applications received: → 5 projects for Visual Arts → 11 projects for Film and audiovisual → 10 projects for Music → 12 projects for Performing Arts
