Hyunsun Jeon
Into the Woods to Lose Our Way

Starts today: June 19 → 22, 2025

In this new installation by Hyunsun Jeon the artist examines shifts in still imagery through segmented canvases. Combining figures, natural elements, and geometric forms, her works create a sense of movement without hierarchy. This installation consists of 30 large paintings arranged in an arc, suspended like the trough of a sine wave.

Seen only from an oblique angle, it disrupts conventional perspectives, questioning direction, scale, and spatial perception. A floating column-shaped painting above adds ambiguity, challenging established visual norms. By blurring boundaries and disconnecting symbols from fixed meanings, Jeon’s work destabilizes perception, offering an experience of uncertainty and reinterpretation.

Hyunsun Jeon’s Into the Woods to Lose Our Way is presented by Lelong Gallery, Gallery2 and Esther Schipper Gallery
