Exhibition
Jenny Brady
The Meta-perception Club
Past: January 23 → February 4, 2015
Film artist Jenny Brady explores ideas around translation, perception and language. Her exhibition will be opened during the Metaperception Club’s first Happening on 22 January. She will present two works at the CCI: Technology Autonomous (2011) which documents the construction of a holographic image together with Wow and Flutter (2013), a film that investigates our depiction and understanding of animal cognition.
Opening night and Happening, 22 January, 6.30pm — 8.30pm
The Meta-perception Club’s first Happening will see the opening of film artist Jenny Brady’s exhibition, an installation by Cleary Connolly and demonstration of their Meta-perceptual helmets as well as a photographic installation by photographer Roseanne Lynch. The Concorde Ensemble will perform “Con Coro” by Rhona Clarke, a piece of music for which the audience is blind-folded, and performance poet Billy Ramsell will read new work. Innovator fiddlers Caoimhín O Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman will perform on their ten-stringed fiddles. A number of Paris-based performers will also be taking part: sound artists Dinah Bird and Jean-Philippe Renoult, philosopher/cheesemonger Hervé Binet, and Etre par six who will present a choreographed experimental performance.
