Our House in the Middle of Our Street
Exhibition
Our House in the Middle of Our Street
Past: May 25 → July 17, 2011
Many artists are interested in spaces in general, in houses in particular. This space in which we live — and makes human beings a singular species. The animal shelter becomes housing environment.
The house becomes the continuation of the body and the place of all our states. Human beings can identified themselves to their surrounding, mirror of their feelings and fears. Don’t we use the expression our “inside”. Identification which is translated through our verbal tics: in front of an imminent danger there is “danger in the house”; in the confusion we do not know any more “where we live” … The limits of the body become confused with the spatial limits of the housing. Place of protection, confinement, alienation, fear, fantasies, representation of the power so many aspects the artists question.
