Stéphane Protic — Heaven’s door

Exhibition

Drawing, installation, sculpture

Stéphane Protic
Heaven’s door

Past: May 10 → June 30, 2012

For his first exhibition in the gallery Le Cabinet, Stéphane Protic, young artist graduated of the Esart in Toulon, shows a hanging articulated in three times where are experimented a lot of mediums.

Here, a structure in latex which adopts a part of the architecture of the gallery. There, drawings of children with a disturbing nudity, wearing, like so many trophies, tatoos and beheaded dolls for some, surrounded by menacing ravens for the others. Finally, a sculpture set up on the ground, made with a base on which lay down probably human bones covered by a light gangue in latex.

This three propositions, « a priori » contradictory, are however intimately linked to the relation that the artist has with the notions of death and art vanity. Making écho to themselves, his art works invite the visitor to interrogate during an exhibition, his link to obscene, phantasm, what is hidden to his eyes in order to be better suggested to him.
