Tham & Videgård Arkitekter
The Operative Elements of Architecture

Past: April 16 → May 17, 2014

The office Tham & Videgård, founded by Bolle Tham and Martin Videgård and based in Stockholm, has achieved international recognition for an architecture that is simultaneously pragmatic and expressive, yet firmly anchored to its place and time, drawing its qualities from each specific context.

In 2013 they received the international House of the Year Award organized by World Architecure News for the House Lagnö. Other major and widely published work includes the Kalmar Museum of Art, the new School of Architecture in Stockholm and the Tree Hotel in Harads.

In the exhibition at the Galerie d’Architecture, Tham & Videgård continue their ongoing discussion on the fundamentals of architecture; a series of aspects and observations that they have labeled The Operative Elements of Architecture.

With examples from built and ongoing projects, presented through a rich material of models, drawings and photographs, Tham & Videgård elaborate their thoughts on what constitutes architecture and how a site specific approach influences their work.
