Astrid de la Forest
Astrid de La Forest uses a number of engraving techniques ; etching, aquataint, drypoint and carborundum, either applied by themselves or combined, in a one of a kind (monotype) or limited print. Her subjects are mainly taken from nature, landscapes, mountains and trees without neglecting some incursions into the animal world.
She enjoys travelling and immersing herself into these new environments, thus she has carried out numerous artist residences in Morocco, Tasmania and recently in Donegal in Ireland.
Elected to the Academy of Fine Arts of the Institute of France in June 2016 into the etching department, to the chair of Louis-René Berge.
